No Hiding

I left my heart on the mountain top
Exposed before the eyes of God.
There was no hiding;
There was nothing.

Cold wind and a grand display
Of boulders tumbled out of a bucket.
The sun pierced through me onto the layers
Of mountaintops beneath my feet.

I stood before him
And he looked into my eyes.
There was no hiding
From his majesty.

Who could withstand God’s creation alone,
Alone on that mountain top and live,
Let alone stand before his very presence?
There was no hiding.

I looked upon his glory,
Facing the Lord of creation.
He knew what was inside me
But there was no fear.

I breathed in peace,
Exhaling the old.
New life.
There was no reason to hide.
